Each room follows a flexible daily routine and educators ensure that each child’s needs are being fulfilled throughout the day. The Children progress through each room at their own pace according to their development and willingness to transition.
Educators work closely with families to foster collaborative relationships that will assist children to achieve quality outcomes. We believe that a working partnership between families and educators is beneficial to the ongoing development of each child.
At Riverlinks Child Care Centre our Penguins room can have up to 12 children per day and follows a one educator to 4 children ratio. Our Penguins room is designed to reflect the home environment to allow the babies to feel safe and secure while they are growing, exploring, and learning through play. A separate, tranquil sleep room with soothing music and dimmed lighting helps accommodate each child’s individual sleep routine. The Penguins daily routine is relaxed and progressive following each child’s individual preferences regarding bottles, meals, sleep, and play.
Our qualified and assistant educators plan for both groups and each individual child on a regular basis through a cycle of observation, implementation, and evaluation.
At Riverlinks Child Care Centre our Dolphins room can have up to 15 children per day and follows a one educator to 5 children ratio. The Dolphin’s room offers a flexible routine and encourages a range of small and large group activities as well as areas that support cooperative and solitary play. As the children build friendships with their peers, educators will guide them through age appropriate social behaviours and skills. Each day the children will engage in both intentional teaching activities as well as lots of children’s choice play. The educators in the Dolphin’s room encourage self-help skills and constant support for your child’s language and self-expression.
Both the qualified and assistant educators plan, document and evaluate in accordance with each child’s interests. With a balance of indoor, outdoor learning experiences and quiet and active times to fulfill each child’s learning needs in spaces that feature both built and natural elements.
At Riverlinks Child Care Centre our Seals room can have up to 20 children per day and follows a one educator to 10 children ratio. Our Seals room has a qualified early childhood teacher each day, and educators who are both diploma and certificate qualified.
The Seals room offers a play based program with a balance of teaching, nature based play and children’s choice. As educators, we aim to instill a love and appreciation for meaningful learning, thus helping to ensure children reach their full potential in later years. It is through this child-orientated play based curriculum that children gain a range of social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
Both the qualified and assistant educators plan, document, and evaluate in accordance with each child’s interests. This ensures there is a balance of indoor, and outdoor learning experiences and quiet and active times to fulfill each child’s learning needs in spaces that feature both built and natural elements.
At Riverlinks Child Care Centre the Outside School Hours Program can have up to 20 children and follows the ratio of one educator to 10 children. The program offers care for children prior to school starting and at the end of each school day. We have a centre bus and service the primary schools:
We take the worry away of how your child will get safely to school in the mornings and care for them in the afternoons.
We offer a variety of activities in the morning, and you can even purchase breakfast if you have not had time or it is a bit too early. The bus departs the centre at 8:05 am to ensure that all children arrive to school prior to their start time. Kindly and Pre-Primary children are walked to their classroom.
Our staff will collect your children from the designated pick up point at each school (you will be informed on enrolment). The children will come back to the centre for a nutritiously prepared afternoon tea and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities or play. We understand that children have been at school all day and may choose to just hang out with their friends, or burn off energy outdoors.
Our staff provides an exciting program during the school holidays with lots of cool craft activities, science experiments, excursions, and incursions. Your children will enjoy your stay with us socialising and making new friendships. Some examples of past awesome activities include:
We are open to ideas and suggestions, so come and tell us what you would like to do while you are here. To enrol for the program you will need to contact the centre or call in and collect a booking form which is available 1 month before the start of each school holiday. Watch this space to view our up and coming program. We suggest you bring a bag with a change of clothes, a sun smart hat, and a packed lunch (no nuts or products) each day. We will provide morning and afternoon snacks but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
